Lottery Ticket Retailers

Effective April 1, 2010, the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission (MGCC) began registering all lottery ticket retailers in Manitoba.   The MGCC will:

• Set terms and conditions under which all retailers and their employees must operate 
• Inspect lottery retail locations, respond to player complaints and investigate irregularities
• Assess the honesty and integrity of lottery retailers through background investigations

These changes to The Gaming Control Act and Regulation are intended to protect Manitobans by introducing additional ways to ensure the honesty of lottery retail operations and to give lottery players the opportunity to have their complaints investigated by an independent agency.

If you are interested in applying to sell lottery tickets, contact the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC) Commercial Gaming Division at 957-2500. New lottery retailers cannot apply for registration with the MGCC until after their application has been approved by (MLC) Commercial Gaming Division.  The MLC’s Commercial Gaming Division manages all lottery retailer locations in Manitoba.
