All employees of the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC), South Beach Casino or Aseneskak Casino must be registered with the MGCC.
The MGCC registers prospective gaming employees to ensure they meet the highest standards of honesty and integrity. You cannot apply for registration directly to the MGCC. You must first apply for employment through one of the gaming operators. If you are interested in working for one of these gaming operators please contact them directly.
Through the application and interview process, they will decide if they wish to hire you. If they do, they will provide you with a registration application form, which you must fill out, and they will forward to us.
During the registration process we will conduct a thorough investigation of your background to establish your honesty and integrity. This investigation may include gathering factual information such as name, age, prior employment, past and current credit obligations, past and current criminal charges, and any criminal convictions. You must be thoroughly honest on your registration application.
Following the investigation, the MGCC can either register you or refuse your application. If you are denied registration, you have a right to appeal the decision. For information on appeals and the hearing process, please click here.
If you are approved, you will be issued a certificate that will allow you to work in the gaming industry. A registration certificate is a privilege, not a right. Registration by the MGCC does not guarantee employment in the gaming industry. Once you are registered the registration period is for one year and will be renewed annually.
Once you are registered with the MGCC you are required to renew your registration on an annual basis. You will receive a letter from the MGGC stating when your registration will expire. A valid registration is necessary under authority of The Gaming Control Act in order to maintain employment within the gaming industry.
When completing the renewal application, please note the following:
- Complete all sections on the renewal application.
- Declare any consequential information as outlined under the “Other” section on the renewal application. It is not necessary to include information you have previously disclosed.
The Renewal Application form can be accessed through the following link, Renewal Application. This PDF form can be filled out online and e-mailed if desired. You can also complete the applicable sections and fax to 204-954-9451 or toll free (Manitoba only) at 1-866-999-6688 or mail this form to the attention of the registration department.
When you are an employee of one of the gaming operators you are required to notify the MGCC of any change in your name, permanent address and telephone number. You are also required to notify the MGCC of the following:
