What if I think I have a winning ticket?
Always sign the back of your tickets.
Everyone should check their tickets before asking the retailer to verify the ticket. You can check the winning numbers for the past year online and in Luck Magazine. You should also use the self-serve ticket checkers available at all lottery retailers. For more tips on buying and checking tickets visit Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s (WCLC’s) website.
When having your tickets validated, remember that the retailer should always give you the validation slip. Even losing tickets will print a slip that states the ticket is not a winner. The retailer must also return your original ticket to you.
If you are not given the validation slip and/or your original ticket, or for any other reason you are concerned you should contact Western Canada Lottery Corporation at 1-800-665-3313.
Before calling, it is important to try to remember the date you validated the ticket, the location and the approximate time. These will help WCLC track the ticket validation.
As of April 1, 2010 the MGCC began to regulate lottery retail operations. We still encourage you to call the WCLC first if you have a problem or a complaint. The MGCC believes the WCLC will be able to resolve many cases directly with the customer. If a problem can’t be resolved or you have a serious concern you can contact the MGCC’s Compliance Department at (204) 954-9400 in Winnipeg, toll-free at 1-800-782-0363 or at complaints@mgcc.mb.ca.
