Security Alert for Bingo Licensees
Fraudulent activities are sometimes attempted at licensed bingo events. In some cases, players alter numbers on bingo sheets and present them as winning cards. This fraud is difficult to detect because a bingo dabber can be used to conceal the changes.
It is your responsibility to minimize your chances of being defrauded.
You should always:
- VERIFY ALL NUMBERS ON ALL WINNING BINGO SHEETS. Master Control Books will be provided free of charge from the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation Order Desk by calling 957-2579 (Winnipeg) or 1-800-782-0367.
- CAREFULLY EXAMINE BOTH SIDES OF ALL WINNING BINGO SHEETS. This may reveal an area not penetrated by the dabber ink - this warns you that numbers may have been altered.
- PAY ALL LARGE BINGO WINNERS BY CHEQUE.
