FAQ’s FOR ELECTRONIC REPORTING

The Electronic Report Tool (ERT) is a dynamic, user friendly Excel file that looks just like the paper MGCC Financial Report forms, but has all the advantages of a computerized report and is designed to be submitted via e-mail.

What are the benefits of ERT?

• Less time required to fill out reports
• Easy to use spreadsheet formatting and functionality
• Reduced errors due to built-in calculations and report validation
• Bingo and Breakopen reports contain MLC product codes and descriptions
• Less paper waste helps save the environment
• Ability to e-mail your report to the MGCC means no running around for signatures

What are the computer system requirements?

Operating System: Microsoft systems only – either Windows XP or VISTA  
Software: Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher
An e-mail account

How do I get started?

Complete and submit the application form. Once we’ve processed your information, we’ll notify you via e-mail and provide the ERT along with your unique PIN. From there, you will save a copy of the ERT (which is an Excel template) to your computer system.

What about training?

Easy to use instructions are provided, along with guidance within the tool itself. Of course, you can call your auditor in Winnipeg at 954-9400 or 1-800-782-0363, during regular office hours of 8:30-4:30, Monday to Friday. If you prefer, you can also send an e-mail with your question to audit@mgcc.mb.ca.

How do I send in my bank statements?

They can be sent to the MGCC in three ways:

1. By fax: (204) 954-9450 or toll free fax: 1-866-999-6688
2. By scanning and e-mailing your documents as an attachment
3. By mail

What are my options for submitting the licence fee?

• License fees can be paid through your financial institution if you set up the bill payment feature on your account. Many ERT reporters have chosen this option since it was a simple matter of adding MGCC to their list of approved payees.
• You also still have the option of mailing a cheque.
