Midway Frequently Asked Questions

Who can conduct a Midway?

The Manitoba Gaming Control Commission may license any person to conduct a lottery scheme at a public place of amusement within the Province of Manitoba in accordance with Section 207 (1) (d) of the Criminal Code (Canada). 

How long does it take to obtain a Midway licence?
Organizations must allow 4-6 weeks for processing of a complete and accurate package. 

What is the cost of a Midway licence?
A non-refundable licence fee of $150.00 must be submitted with the application.

A Midway Application is available from our website or by calling our office at 954-9400 or toll free at 1-800-782-0363. 

Is there a limit to the prizes being offered?
Yes, the amount or value of each prize awarded can not exceed $500. 

Are there any limits to the cost to play?
The price to play can not exceed $2.00.
